Careers Programme

Careers Strategy

Introduction

The Compass Academy has a clear plan in respect of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG). This strategy outlines the Academy’s commitment to the delivery of this plan.

The DfE defines careers guidance as ‘a coherent programme of activities that inform, inspire and motivate young people, preparing them for work and helping them to understand where different education and training choices could take them in the future’.

Our Commitment

At The Compass Academy we are committed to ensuring that all pupils have access to experiences that enable them to develop both skills and understanding to support successful transitions.

The Compass Academy strongly believes that excellent careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) together with meaningful life experiences e.g. vocational experience, employer talks and other related activities can support young people to reach well informed decisions and better understand their options.

Baker Clause Policy Statement

The Compass Academy adheres to the Baker Clause Policy Statement stipulating that schools must ensure that a “range of education and training providers” have access to students from Year 7 to Year 13 so that the students can be informed of the technical education and apprenticeships options that are available to them post 16.

Labour Market Information: LMI Humber
